Can't read ANY datfiles

Hey guys,
Need help as everything I've tried is failing.
When running Romcenter 2.62
I get error "No datfiles loaded. Choose........"
When I try load a datfile through Datfile manager I get
"Can't copy file. The operation completed successfully."
"0 datfiles added"
DL'ed Mame's, Winkawaks and others but no go.
Any help?

I have the same exact problem. Somebody PLEASE help, as I really need for romcenter to work and this is extremely frustrating. Would an older version work better or something?

Hi there.
Posting the O/S you use would probably be helpful. Does this error occur when RC starts up? Personally i haven't faced the problem you described but it sounds like you don't have sufficient rights to write to some directory...

I don't think anything happens when RC starts up. Only when I try and put any datafiles on. I am using Windows XP home

What rights do you have on the PC? Have you logged-in as an administrator?

Same problem here.
Tried with 2.62 and beta.
I'm running Win XP Pro, with full admin rights.
When I launch RC I get this error msg: "File Not Found. No datafiles loaded. Choose a new file blabla"
When I go in File/Dat and I choose Add, then a ZIP file of Mame84 or any other zipped dat file I get : "Can't copy file. The operation completed successfully (!!
).
Any idea ?

Gotcha
FYI:
I deleted the key mentionned in old 2.42 : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RomCenter2
then
I reinstalled RC and it works perfect
