Games using CHD files (performance issue)

Are there tweaks that I need to explore with MAME32 or MAME32FX?

The games "stutter or skip" and it is about a 15 minutes delay.

Is there some place that I can adjust something?

i.e. Gauntlet Dark Legends is really bad
