RomCenter 2.70 beta 4 released

Version 2.70 beta 4 released
This update includes the romcenter.exe and datutil 2.1 from Logiqx (http://www.logiqx.com)

What's new:

beta 3:
- Clrmame pro datafile support (through Datutil)
- registry replaced by ini file
- fixed french error messages.

beta 4:
- fixed a bug creating a crash during a fix operation.

Note:
- Rc datafile generated by winkawaks 1.53 is corrupted. Use the Clrmame dat instead.
- I'm away for one week (from 13/02 to 19/02). Play with this release and post bugs reports in this topic. You can use the new RSS feed to follow threads (link below).

Installation:
- install version 2.62
- unzip rc270b4 and replace files in your romcenter folder

Backup your files before using this version.

Download:
- RomCenter 2.62 (2.5 MB)

- RomCenter 2.70 beta 4 (1 MB)

Just a FYI the DATUTIL being distributed is NOT the latest version from logiqx.

The latest version is: v2.11 (created 16/1/2005)

something to add many roms paths at a time.

Maybe with little bowes to mark when adding a path.

I havnt downloaded 2.70b4 yet, I've stuck with the older 2.62 for a while, but I think its time to update... Awsome job on Romcenter, its helped me out alot.

Don't worry, the changes don't affect RomCenter.

To save confusion, from now on I will post a message if/when I make a change that affects RomCenter. Such a change hasn't happened since late-July last year and that was when I added native listxml support.

It doesnt help you download roms.

Romcenter's main purpose is to help you verify your roms to make sure they have correct CRC's and that they are named correctly and that all the roms necessary to play a gme are all there.

Here is a hint for everyone.

Copy eveything from your C:\Program Files\Romcenter and make a backup folder to put it into.

Then unzip the beta into C:\Program Files\Romcenter.

If you don't like the beta then copy everything in the backup folder and paste it into the C:\Program Files\Romcenter to get rid of the beta.

There no need to reinstall the 2.62 back when you gotting a backup in a backup folder save.

That's not necessary, you only need to take a copy of romcenter.exe and datutil.exe since they are the only things overwritten by the beta.

Anyhow, there isn't any need to revert back. Both new executables are much better than the ones from 2.62.
