Error loading mame rom path in a fresh install

on a fresh install on a windows 8.1 computer when I try to add the path where the roms are located after creating the last database for mame 162 (directly from the emulator), I receive the following error after the "Loading file list":

Errore: multiple rows in singleton select
At procedure 'P_UPDATEROMID' line: 21, col: 3
At procedure 'P_LOADFILES' line: 82, col: 1
multiple rows in singleton select
GDS Code: 335544652 - SQL Code: -811 - Error Code: 332

Any suggestion?

In Mame 162, the format of the XML has changed so it's probably not compatible with RC3. Check this thread for more info.

I'm not sure if Eric can do something about this in RC3, but i suggest you be patient for a (hopefully little) while, RC4 is about to be released.

thanks for the reply, the very strange thing is that the creation of the database went well, no error.

I loaded the sample directory and everything worked out, it's just when I add the main rom directory that I get the error.

After the error the path file is not shown in the path list treeview and If I try to reload the path the program tells me that the path is already in the db; I have to close romcenter and reopen it to replycate the error.

Further tests with another computer present the same problem, now I'm going to create the file from the previous mame version even if It seems something related to the rom files loading instead of the xml format.

nothing to do even with the previous version of the mame.
Tomorrow I will try to load splitted roms path .

There should be a special rom layout in mame xml which raise this error.
Anyway, rc4 beta will be released very soon. Still one or two things to fix and it's ready. It will support mame 0.161 and 0.162 of course.

Since this will be a beta version, it would be prudent to backup your roms before trying anything...

In any case, the "very soon" part is "very nice" Eric. Great news...
