Re: Device roms merged into game roms
Hi and welcome here. under settings I've set both rom and bios merge mode to split. Is there a way to do that? Yes there is. What you've already done! :? Well, maybe i'm missing something. Try creating a new data file and verify that rom and bios are indeed in split mode, then add the rom paths and ...

Re: fix *only* principal rompath destination, secondary add paths
Create a new DB from the datafile and add a new roms folder in which copy only the files you wish to check/fix. In any case, have a backup of your roms somewhere, just in case something goes wrong. RomCenter has protection though (when it deletes files, it can be configured to move them to the Recyc...

Nope. .rdt is a binary database file, so no manual editing is possible.

Hello and welcome here.
All data (including rompaths) are stored in the database file (the one with .rdt extension).
Have a nice day.

Hi there. Eric will have to take a look at it and tell what's going on. In the meantime, if you have a few minutes to spare and wish to try something on a hunch, try creating a different local user account on your PC, with English characters only, login with it and perform the same actions, just to ...
Re: News
I'm working on refactoring the romcenter source code to prepare migration to .net core. Branch 4.1 will then be updated to a modern windows framework and be compiled in 64b. Hi Eric, From what i've understood from blogs and articles out there (not from first-hand experience though), Core 3.0 is sti...

Re: Need a help
Hi there. In Romcenter "Options", you can define the language you prefer. From personal experience though, i can say that the combination of Windows and .NET is rather tricky on the language matter. If on your PC, you have downloaded a .net framework in a specific language, then there are some error...

Re: Unable to run RC 4.0.0 portable
Given that I'm now on a more 'sensitive' computer, I'd like to ask which are the system folders RC uses and if it adds entries to Windows's registry, and how to locate them. AFAICR, searching "Documents", "AppData\Local" and "C:\ProgramData" for "romcenter" should be enough, provided you have "inst...

Asking here is fine, there is no need to post to the bugtracker (yet).
Eric is on vacation, so be a little patient and he will check it out when he returns.

Re: Is 3.7.1 still supported?
Hi.
Search the forums, but IIRC, the mame dat files are not directly compatible with RC3.71 any more. RC4 final was released a couple of weeks ago, which is based on .NET 4.0 (which is compatible with Windows XP). Download the zip (non-install version) and try it out to see if it works.

Re: Deleted files/roms etc, where do they go?
No problem. Have fun with it and remember, it's always good practice to have a backup of your roms somewhere. It's still not an official release, although as Eric (the developer) said, the final RC4 version should be out soon.

Re: Deleted files/roms etc, where do they go?
Might i request an option in the future to choose between eradicating deleted stuff, or deleting it to the recyling bin instead? Hi there and welcome. Such an option already exists. Re: How to "upgrade" to a newer version
Hi there,
Personally when upgrading RC4 version x to version y, i just copy the new files over the old ones and execute RC. This retains the old settings. Then, when opening a database, it is just upgraded to the new version (when necessary) and all paths are also retained.

AFAIK no. Eric is actively developing RC4 and correcting errors, even though the pace may seem a little slow due to Real Life commitments.

Hi there. I can't say anything about the logic behind RC4 (since i'm not familiar with it), but i guess it may have decided that based on the contents of the zip. Maybe the file you put in it exists in "mariner", so it got confused...
