Mame 0.64 datfile - cant fix all roms

I downloaded the .dat file for MAME 0.64. A few of the new roms I have can be fixed, but unfortunately, many of them cant be fixed it looks like. The ones that can be fixed are Metal Slug 2,3,4, KOF2000 etc.
Howwever, Samurai Shodown IV and KOF 2001 etc. arent fixed. How can i fix all roms to work with MAME 0.64 ?

0.64? Those old roms are not easy to find I think...

First of all, UPGRADE to the latest version of MAME (0.105)!
Unless, your running MAME on a really old spec PC, there is no reason NOT to get up to date and use the latest binaries and associated ROMS.
MAME is an evolving project like many others, some games which once worked in previous versions have now found to be incorrect / bad or they require new BIOS's or additional ROMS.
NEOGEO has been re-written to almost perfect state now and requires the latest ROMS in order to work (plus NEOGEO BIOS). Its emulation of NEOGEO games is so good now that the garbage can be seen on start up.
New drivers are added almost every 2 weeks, with bug fixes or working drivers of new games.
To stay in the past is just silly.

I think so too, but I cant play with people online if i dont have the 0.64 roms..

I assume your using Kaillera? Or some sort of rubbish MAME32 hybrid with some sort of online play?
Well you get what you download, it hasnt been updated in years and from what I can see the authors dont care.
If you want to play outdated emulators with no support good luck to you, but if your looking for older ROM sets to play with it, its going to be hard as most dedictaed MAME fans like myself move to the next version each time.
