Extremely slow Romcenter

Post by Guest »

When Romcenter is handling huge sets (for example the Amiga Games section which contains almost 20000 entries) Romcenter is EXTREMELY slow... it can take up to 30 mins only to update the list, and after renaming or moving files it just stops and does nothing.... I usually get tired and manually terminate the app... but is it supposed to be this slow?

Personally, I have found RC currently in its current form to be slow on large rom sets.

I'm not too sure if Eric understands why this is and if version 3.0 onwards with the new rewrite will get around this problem.

Not that I like to promote another rom tool on this forum, but for larger sets I suggest you use clrMAMEpro until Eric gets around to fixing this issue.

BY and large, RC is THE best rom tool for newbies....clr although better is very daunting to use for the average person.
