I use romcenter version 3.1 and it seems there is still an issue with the cvs2gd rom where the file track03.bin is unknown even if the crc is the same as the track03.bin fine who romcenter says is missing.

Check if you have a 'Template database version = 3,02' when you start romcenter. Are you under vista ?

I have the template database version 3.02 and I am under vista. I wanted to join a screenshot in the post, but all I can do is put an img tag with an url and don't see an option to join the screenshop file.

I use a mame version 0.127 generated datafile and the merge settings are roms-split, bios-merged, samples-merged and the files read as follow :

The about box says :
datafile tag -> plug-in : arcade.dll

Select your path and do a 'tools/reload path'. Rc will remove the path and add it again.

To upload a picture, go in the 'upload attachment' tab below the reply edit area, upload the picture and then add it in your text. The img button is only a html link.

I don't have the upload option, possibly because I am not registered. I will try your fix tomorrow. Thanks.

My roms and romcenter are in an external usb hard disk (drive J, usually), the idea is to be able to use the drive on whichever computer I plug it in and use romcenter or emuloader (my launcher). Romcenter did not have any problems with the rom path the last time I tried (when I upgraded to 3.10). I pluggued it in this morning (it was still the J drive) and selected 'reload path' as you said. It gave the following message :
And it removed the path from the list. I added the path again and it is still giving the error about track03 missing. I did the same think with a second path, on my C drive this time and I have the same result.

So, this add a new problem, why did it says that the rom path was not found. Maybe it would be best if I send you my rom.

Try with the new version 3.11.

Don't send rom, it is way to heavy !

I upgraded and I first tried an F5 on my external hard drive path and as it didn't work, I tried the "reload path" item in the tools menu. Still the same thing.

Also, even if i'm registered now, I can't see the tab your are talking about to upload a picture. I can only see an "option" tab.

I will do some tests.
About the upload feature, I added some more permissions to the group. It should be ok now.

I installed a clean vista with romcenter 3.00 updated to 3.11 using the web files. I loaded a mameplus 0.127 dat.
My cvs2gd is recognized.
So, something is wrong with your config.

Check if you have old romcenter files in the vista virtual store, which can be used instead of the new romcenter files:
Go into <UsersName>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files and delete the romcenter folder.

Note that the new version of mame removed these track files from cvs2gs...

Hi, I deleted the folder you asked and did a "Reload Path". At first, I thought it solved the problem, but it was only because my path was unselected after the operation. I still have the same problem.

Neither of you reported the SP version and locale. Maybe it has something to do with the problem???

I use windows vista home premium with SP1, all the latest updates from microsoft are installed. The locale I use is English (Canada) and the country is set to Canada.

So, you have SP1. He said he tried it in a fresh Vista installation but maybe he did not have SP1 and i thought perhaps this is what causes the problem. Just an idea...

My track03.bin file size is 1 185 760 800 B (uncompressed size). Could you check yours ?
Try also to unzip the file (to see if no errors occurs).

If all is correct, could you upload the file to a file sharing service (rapidshare for example) ?
I would like to download and test on my pc.

I thought of that too but what are the chances of having two files that have differences but have exactly the same checksum.

Hmmm. In the past, i remember i had seen Romcenter 2 complaining about zip files and marking them as damaged while they actually weren't. I guess their headers where somehow unrecognized by Romcenter because simply unpacking and repacking the zip solved the problem. Maybe that's the case now. sbeaudoin, try to unpack, repack the zip and re-check it with Romcenter before doing anything else, just to see what happens.

I have the same size :
I have been able to unzip it. I rezipped it manually and it didn't work. I tried with the 'Rezip' option of romcenter and it is the same thing.

The archive file as been split in two (a limit of 200MB on rapidshare) with winrar at maximum compression. I made it as self extractable. I will delete it as soon as you confirm me you have it.

And if you unzip track03 and check it with romcenter ?

Same thing. I extracted the file I sent you in a separate folder to make the scan faster. The others cvs2gd files are other versions. The one I sent you is the (3) file.
I then did a reload path in romcenter and it don't recognize track03.wav
It is still tagged with "Unknown game"

One more thing: Please send me your 'mame127.rdt' at my 'help' email account (romcenter domain).

I manage to find 30 minutes during my travel to work to check the rdt file you sent me.
I found that the file size is wrong in the mame records !

You use mamepp 0.127. Maybe this is an error in this mame build. I will now donwload mamepp and check if I can reproduce the error. On your side, you can try with another mame build, or the logiqx 0.127 dat.

Or I will wait for the next major release of mamepp. I will wait for your final response, but don't rush, it is not urgent.

Here are some news.
First, sorry for the delay, I really had no free time to spend in the project in november.
I take a look at the rdt file, and the rom has an incorrect size. I mean, the physical rom has a correct size, but the database file has an incorrect record of the rom size.
This is the reason the rom is not recognized in rc.
I created a new rdt myself with the mamepp.exe, and all is correct !
I really don't know what's wrong with your installation or pc

What we gonna do is wait for the next release, and check if something changed. (the next version will be compiled under delphi 2009).
Then, if the problem is not solved, I could send you a special 'debug' version to try to locate the proble.
