So I tried the links provided within the apps help file.
Downloaded many zipped dat files.
Opened them.
NONE of them are recognized by the app.
Not an accepted database...connection error.
Went to the Da-o-Matic, selcted dat files by system, after the TOSEC downloads were also bogus/not valid.
Made sure I selected the (non-default) RomCenter file system.
Downloaded all the Dats for all my Roms.
Again:
Same thing.
NONE of what 've downloaded and unzipped is an "rdt" file.
renaming them from dat to rdt didn't work.
Is this app totally abandonded/useless?
Should I go with ClearMamePro?

Rdt are for datafile already loaded by romcenter
To load a dat, create a new database and select the dat file, as specified in the help file.

When I create a database it asks me for a location for the DAT file and opens up a browser window. I can't find the option to select the DAT file that came with Romcenter.

Any help here? Any ideas where I can find an Amstrad CPC dataset that will work with Romcenter?

So far, i've used the dats from
here without any issues. Haven't tried them yet with the latest betas of RC4, i expect it to work though...
P.S.: Ha. Eric got here first.

Thanks for those suggestions. I'm finding the TOSEC site quite unintuitive to browse - could you post a link to the datafile I would need?
Thanks

Well, it appears the TOSEC site is currently down. There was a link in the front page for the announcement of the new TOSEC DATs release. In there, you would find the link to download the latest file (TOSEC - DAT Pack - Complete (2321) (TOSEC-v2016-11-11).zip). When it comes up, if you still cannot find it, post here again.

I can't discover the choice to choose the DAT record that accompanied Romcenter.

Romcenter 4 is not final and does not provide datafiles yet. Go to the web sites aformentioned.
