Hi
Trying for the first time to fix incomplete (rom missing) ROMs.
Is there a folder we can choose that contains newly downloaded ROMs in order for romcenter to fix the incomplete ROMs by using the newly downloaded ROMs in that folder? (like clrmame)
OR
Do we have to copy newly downloaded ROMs directly to our rom folder (as chosen in romcenter) overwriting the old ROMs and after this, click "refresh" in romcenter?
I'm a beginner in this task. Help is appreciated.

Re: incomplete (rom missing)
What you are describing is a valid way to do things. Just make sure the new rom you have is compatible with the actual MAME version of the datafile and MAME.EXE you will use to play the game.
Another way (the one i would suggest - and safer) would be to indeed add a second rom path in which you will place the downloaded roms. You will then go and fix your main rom path. RC will discover that the game in the main rom path is missing a file that exists in the "downloads" rom path, get it from there and add it to the game in the main rom path.
After you download something, refresh the "downloads" rom path in RC and the relevant game in the main rom path will turn from red to yellow (which means "fixable"). Then you can fix it.

Re: incomplete (rom missing)
Everything is clear except this: how does RC know in what rom folder it needs to fix the rom?
So in other words: will it fix the roms in the main rom folder using the ones in download folder or the other way?
Clrmame has a roms and download folder option but RC can just accept more rom folders.
So how to choose which rom folder must be the one where all fixed roms go to and which rom folder the newly downloaded roms are read from?

It will fix the folder you have selected in the tree at the left of the window.jessica wrote: Mon Mar 01, 2021 1:04 am Everything is clear except this: how does RC know in what rom folder it needs to fix the rom?
