RC3A7: MSVCR71.dll and MSVCP71.dll not found and other bugs

Post by denzilla »

RC 6 crashed immediately for me upon startup but RC7 crashes and gives this error. Running XP Pro SP2 fully updated. I DL'd the missing DLL files and it starts fine now, but if these aren't going to be included in the installer, the user should be informed of the requirements.

Other bugs:

* The program also appears to not be remembering window position either as it always starts with half of the program offscreen.

* Set to create dummy roms by default and ignores when changed.

Thanks :)

I never had this problem. Probably these dll were installed by other software in the windows system folder...
Anyway, thank you for the report. I added the two dll in the installation file and it is now uploaded.

Yes, this is one thing I have to do before the beta stage.
* Set to create dummy roms by default and ignores when changed.
This is strange, someone else also report this problem. My installation works fine.
Does it happen for all settings ? Check if your romcenter.ini is writable (it is in 'my document/romcenter/').
Are you on vista ?

Running XP Pro SP2 and it seems too be just this one setting. Also, I've got some roms that RC says have unneeded roms, but clrmame says everything is as it should be. I'm sure they're more being detected wrong, but here is what I have:

buckrogn (useless files)
sengekij (Shows as needing a rom)
spacedxj (useless files)
rastanu (useless files)
rastsaga (useless files)

4 come back as having useless files and 1 needs a rom. My sets are split, btw.

Would you also include an option to delete a rom directly from within RC like there was in 2.71? Just noticed that nes.dll, lynx.dll, sms.dll, genesis.dll, snes.dll, a7800.dll and n64.dll files are missing from the plugin section.

I check these files and create a new thread.

Yes, I will add move, copy, delete... for the next version.

I din't test enough the plugin part yet, so I just includes the arcade.dll.
