Its command line so you need to create a short cut and then click properties and type the parameters in the TARGET box.

I like to use the command prompt myself. :)
You can do this by hitting the start menu and clicking on run.
now type cmd.

Now move to the directory that rombuild is in by typing: cd "rombuild directory"
example:
cd C:\romtools\rbuild22

now read the rombuild.txt for commands and options.

Also keep in mind if there are any spaces in your game names or directories you need to enclose them in quotes.
example:

afterburner game 2 would need to be typed as "afterburner game 2"
or
C:\rom tools\rombuild would need to be typed as "C:\rom tools\rombuild"

Command line programs are pretty simple to use once you learn the basics.

The command line doesn't work.

It just flash away.

I don't have anything under xp.

This is a different DOS command on xp.

All windows have a different DOS setup.

It won't work.

I need a xp ROMBuild v2.2 setup version. :(

just type 'rombuild' (without quote) in a txt file & rename it as rbuild.bat (or any name, but change the extension from .txt to .bat)

It works fine on XP Pro, that's what it was written on and I use it on.

Why not just open a command prompt like everyone else (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt or Start->Run...->Cmd)?

The symptom 'it just flash away' is because some people don't understand that command line utilities must be run from a command prompt rather than by simply clicking.
