Editing Datfiles

Post by Embryo »

Hi all,

Is it possible to get a datfile, either for Romcenter or ClrMAME, and exclude roms marked as Bad Dump, Translation, Overdump etc from it? I know of a little program called Dat-Generator but it seems to work only for Romcenter, and hasn't been updated for a long time also.

Thanks in advance

This is an older program I use. It's pretty self explanatory.

Emuaide

Click on the line edit tab, type in the datafile location where it says "Source file".
Type in something like new.dat where it says output file
where it says "any lines with following ........" type [T .
Click start.
This will create a datafile without any Translations.
You can do the same with [b, [o, beta, prototype, whatever.

Edit: This only works for Romcenter dats but you can always convert it with Logiqx datutil.
