This is how it looks under XP SP3. I guess something's wrong with Win2K then... :hum:

Maybe some special coloring techniques are used in the menu and button bars that are not supported by Win2K. For instance, i know for a fact that the tray area of Win2K supports only up to 16 icon colors while XP supports much more (up to 65K or 16M, i'm not sure)...

Also, a question. What's the need for so large buttons in the button bar? Is there a way to reduce them to a more "normal" size?

I put big icons to use with high resolutions monitors. You can't switch back to small icon for now.

About win2k, I didn't test... It probably comes from the color depth of the icons :?

I hope you are planning to add an option at some point. It would be nice.

Yes but the background of the button bar has the same problem too? If these toolbars have any alpha blending, transparencies or any similar options enabled by default (which are supported only by XP+), they may be the cause of this issue. Perhaps you could check the version of the underlying OS and disable such options in the button bar upon loading of Romcenter?

It is planned, but I don't know when.
Are you planning to install win7 ? :P

This is the right thing to do. I will disable all graphics features for win2k.

I've open a bug for this subject.

Friends of romcenter suggest or advise that they believe these options to your wonderful program:

PREFERENCES > ROMSETS

Add "Merge CHDS mode". this is for the chd roms:

(*) CHDS for not considering that the game is complete.
( ) Merger (CHDS in main set).
( ) Split (CHDS Only in specific clone sets).
( ) A merged-1 (All CHDS in both sets).
( ) A merged-2 (CHDS in separate folder).
      [X: \ CHDS \                           | ^]

PREFERENCES > FIX > FIX paramneters

change the option "Rename files" by:

( ) Do not rename files.
(*) Rename files.
( ) Create a new file name expected from the bad file named.

change the option "roms Rename" by:

( ) Do not rename roms.
(*) Rename roms.
( ) Create a new name expected roms from roms bad name.

add the option "Fix CHDS":

[*] Fix CHDS

Hopefully the take my suggestions into consideration, thank you very much for everything.

That would be nice. Also, the same thing for Samples would also be nice (requested again in the past).

Hello friends romcenter:

For a time they did a few suggestions, and if not taken into account.

But if you do not have time I can do. Giving hope to the source code of your wonderful program to make my own changes as I need.

Thank you very much for everything. See you later. I await your response.

I take note of your suggestions.
As for modifying the code. This is not as simple. The code is actually written in delphi 2009 and, as I'm adding a multithreading framework, the code will not be stable for some time. Once all fix fonctions updated, I could take a look at new features.

And I already said, I don't want to make rc open source for now. I don't have enough time for dealing with merging, publishing and developing.

As we know, MAME 130u1 had changed a lot of chds, so we need to use the new version of chdman.exe to update chds. But if I use MAME 131 data file, romcenter reported my chds are bad, and the SHA1 data of my chd files looks strange. For example, area51.chd, scaned by romcenter 3.31, the SHA1 of original file is 9ea749404c9a5d44f407cdb8803293ec0d61410d, that is correct according to MAME 130 data, but the SHA1 of updated file is 00000000000000009ea749404c9a5d44f407cdb8, its not correct in MAME 131 data, its supposed to be 3b303bc37e206a6d7339352c869f050d04186f11.

But when I use ClrMame scan my updated chds, its ok(using the same MAME 131 data file). Why? Is this a bug of romcenter? Or I can do something to avoid that? Did it happened to anybodyelse?

Yes, i see it, when use chdman (v0.131) for update CHDs form v130 to v131.

chdman show info that the CHD converted has the correct SHA1, but romcenter show different SHA1 for that CHDs.

Sorry for my english.

Greets.

There is one detail that I think your program will be easy to correct.

It all starts when you add a roms folder, then view the list are:

Game badly named file, files with imcompleto roms available rom duplicate, etc.

The detail is specific on the "Play bad name," because what he does now is to confuse the name of the game on hard disk with the proposed program romcenter, what we should do is find the roms in the game if (name on disk hard) and not expected to find the name (name expected, which suggests roncenter).

I think it's a problem serious but easy to solve.

I hope you can help me correct this, thank you very much for everything.
