Has someone asked him?
I don't think it's that hard.

1. Create mame v0.106 datafile from RC
2. Open it with a text editor
3. Search for "???"
4. Replace it with whatever you like
5. Save the dat file.

That's it.

Yes, i know. I prefer to stay with the original dat file and the original filename though. I expect it to be fixed in v0.106-1 or perhaps v0.107.

BTW, this dummy file is created as "317-----.key" by clrmame pro, like Wanderer said in his opinion 2-a. I guess we'll have to blame the mame dev team for setting that name. If Eric has it in mind and remembers to put it in RC3, that would be fine. For now, we'll just have to stay with one red rom ...

Eric, an opinion please...

Hi all. In the latest mame release (v0.106), there is an item - astorm.zip - which contains a broken rom (red-marked with an X) named "317-????.key". When RC tries to create it, it of course fails. There are two ways to go here: 1. Leave it as it is. Its a stupid thing to have ?'s in a filename so i...

Hmmm. Have you tried to drag the "/roms" or "/roms/NAME OF SYSTEM" folder? The correct action is the second. I don't think the first will work. Of course you have to have a valid data file.

Daylight savings

Hello

I know this forum software has an option somewhere to automatically update the time a user sees on screen, when daylight savings is in effect. I can't find it anywhere. Is it disabled or it exists only in newer versions of the forum software?

Thanks

Re: Options for future versions..

It is possible to insert an option that automatically creates ''Dummy'' Zip files for the Roms! Hi and welcome to the forum. I think this has been requested before. It's a good idea and i support it. Since Eric is in the process of implementing RC v.3, let's hope he'll decide to include this option...

Hello and welcome to the forum. I don't think there's an automatic way to do this. This may help though: If you can filter one system's roms, you can select all of them in the right-part of RC's window, rightclick on one of them and select Shell operations\Move files to... from the popup menu. I don't see any need to retain a history of version compatibilities. My main concern for making this suggestion is RC's behavior in case your site is down or if an internet connection is not available. I wouldn't like to see a delay when RC starts up or when loading a mame data file, just because e...

Well, this is an issue which would be great if it was solved. A few suggestions 1. Maybe it's not my business but IMHO it would be better if an XML file was used instead of a delimeted one. XML is a standard so anyone would be able to use such a file. 2. From what i've understood, RC would check onl...

REQ: Shell operations: rename file (on zip files only)

As the title says, in shell operations rightclick menu, it would be nice to have a "rename file" - on zip files only, not on ROMS, as it happens now with move and copy. Why i request this? Sometimes when i get new files, i put them in a common folder and later (using RC) i rename and distribute them...

Hi Eric I was thinking, when working with RC, i usually have large paths in the tree part of the main window (left part). Hi

Rezip files is a nice feature, however, if you try to rezip an entire collection it may take days to finish... It would be nice if for each emulator, RC stored the last rezip date and had a new option to "rezip only files that have a newer date since last rezip".
