Re: RC 3.0 alpha1
- I've loaded the full MAME v0.111 set in the database from the datafile created by MAME and RC2.71. After closing RC3 and reloading it, i loaded the MAME database again. While loading, i noticed some errors in the right-side window (log?): "erreur: arithmetic exception, numeric overflow or string ...

Re: RC 3.0 alpha1
- There are some zip files (i.e. 005, 40love, astrob*) that although RC2 displays them as green, RC3 displays them as red. "Fixing" them does nothing (the fixing process seems to think the files have no problem - which they don't of course, they are just displayed as red). - 005: For some reason, *...

RC300a1 issues
Hi Eric and thanks for all the great work on RC3. I found some time to take a look at the new A1 version so here are some comments/questions about it. - I've loaded the full MAME v0.111 set in the database from the datafile created by MAME and RC2.71. After closing RC3 and reloading it, i loaded the...

The How-To would be very, very, very small... coz' the only thing to do is to change the TEMP dir in the prefs... Wow. It's that difficult, eh? :) Still, if you could post such a step-by-step procedure here with those simple instructions on how to configure wine and what problems might one face (i....

Also, i have a question about the announcement of RC3a1: 15 minutes to create the mame database??? Is this correct? If yes then is this happening because this is an alpha version? Will it be improved later on? Yes, it is correct, 15min. This is a one time process. It is needed to load every roms in...

And i have no clue what the other thing you said is.. You are probably referring to the "datafile name". A datafile is ...

9) It would be great to have a combo box for database files like the datafile list in RC271 I want to use a MRU (most recently used). Do you think it could do the trick ? I haven't had time to see RC 3.0a1 yet as i'm in the middle of a million things ATM (including a PC re-installation). I hope i'l...

Hi armin338 AFAICR, the Amiga dats worked fine. There was no "index out of bounds" issue then i tried them. It's been a while though so i'll check it out and get back to you. As for the rest of the dats, sorry but i cant help there. It would help if you told us the version of TOSEC you used to produ...

The choice if I move to another dev tool will probably be vs.net / c#. Well, in any case if you are thinking of using .NET framework you could perhaps consider trying Mono which is actually a free/OSS .NET 1.1 framework substitute. It seems that it also provides a C# compiler so it's probably possi...

Hi Eric. AFAIK, there are interesting development tools/libs that are OS-independent. Have you thought of perhaps trying one of them? For instance: MonoDevelop (Linux development IDE) #Develop (SharpDevelop) (Windows development IDE) Mono (.NET-compatible libraries working under both Linux and Windo...

You just need to spend some time and search what to change in the prefs :yeah: the chalenge is worth the pain  I've seen a lot of people asking around about RC in Linux the past few years. I know i'd be interested. If you know how it can be done, perhaps you could create a quick-and-easy HOW-...

Hi Eric Glad to see that everything is back to normal. We'll all be waiting for more exiting news about RC. Re: Few more features request
1) Support disabling rom path (ie, add a check box next to each added folder) <SNIP> 5) Add more information in "Infos" eg For individual zip files, if some missing rom is available for certain game, the status can be "Available in XXX.zip, YYY.zip" instead of just "Available in another game", so w...

I tried it but nothing changed. Before "bradley" i had a rom missing from another file and when repeating the same procedure, i got "alphaona.zip" as corrrupted. Of course there was no problem with it either. Rezipping "alphaona.zip" didn't solve the problem either.RomCenter wrote:Maybe rezip bradley ?

Strange issue with RC 2.71 and mame 0.109...
Fixing mame 0.109 roms: "spacduel" is missing rom "136002-125.n4", but it's "available in other roms". When trying to fix it, it is not fixed but instead it reports "bradley" as corrupted! Of course "bradley" is not corrupted. Any one can duplicate this? P.S. Clearing the "Cache" dir does not help. ...

That wouldn't actually work because MAME does not search all related clones for a required ROM. It only searches the immediate parent and the clone itself. oh, i didn't knew that! seems i do only have single clones - i'm sorry, everbody forget what i said before  Hi there As i said before, th...

Yes, un-merged when the main set is not complete and merged if it is complete. :? OK, so what nailbomb suggests is to not have a global un-merged or merged mode, but to depend on whether the specific Master is complete. Wow, this would certainly be complicated code-wise. Using "Split" i would get a...

Re: Feature request for the next version
Hi there and welcome to the forum. I don't know what Eric's response will be in your comment but i'd like to point out some difficulties in your idea. the solution: if a set has one or more complete clones but an incomplete main set that only contains roms required by it's clones - just don't create...

Re: Remove duplicates
I have been using your program recently and would like to know if there is a filter to remove duplicates Hi there and welcome to the forums. Shall we assume you are talking about MAME datafiles? In any case, you are probably talking about "main game sets" and "clones". Clones are not exact duplicat...

It should stay as ini for now, but as a xml config file is already used, I will maybe move all settings in xml later. Ok.
