Romcenter

Sorry but i'll speak in French it'll be easier for me...

je viens de télécharger Romcenter que j'ai installé sur un disque qui n'est pas ma partition windows par soucis de place.

Au lancement et après avoir mentionné sur ce même disque, dans le menu option, les dossiers correspondant aux répertoirex temporaire, de base de jeux et des datafiles, je sélectionne ensuite l'emplacement du datafile et l'emplacement du fichier de destination puis créer la base de jeux.

J'ai systématiquement ce message d'erreur qui apparait : Avez-vous une idée pour résoudre ce problème ?

I'll answer in English, i hope you can understand it.

First of all, check your free space in C: when this message appears (before pressing OK), it may not be enough. Also, try "Disk Cleanup". If you can't do anything about it, try this:

- Restart the PC.
- Login
- Before opening anything, go to the Temp folder and delete all its contents (but not the folder itself). If Windows reports that something is in use and cannot be deleted, skip it and proceed to the next file.
- Try RomCenter again.

You say delete all its contents in the temp folder. Is it the temp folder in windows folder or another folder like Programdata ?

It's true, the space in my C:\ Disk is low (10Go). This is the reason why I installed romcenter on D: \. I have more 200 Go on this disk but Romcenter still install files in C:\.

Your Temp folder is C:\Users\Mikael\AppData\Local\Temp. Do not delete the folder, delete its contents only. You can achieve the same (or better) result though by using "Disk Cleanup". This process deletes the contents of the Temp folder along with other stuff you might not need. Just be careful what you delete though.

EDIT: In "Disk Cleanup", check "Delivery Optimization Files", "Temporary Internet Files", "Temporary Files" and "Thumbnails", for start.

After using "Disk clean up" the problem is still present...

I'll look if my setting is good for the basegame & datafile folders. There must be something i didn't understand for the begining start.

EDIT : I load the Nes basegame (parent-clone (20190218-202723) and all is empty. So when I load my rom files all is grey.

I'll read carefully the wiki & the FAQ.

Hmmm, this sounds strange. Can you test the files with an external packer (i.e. 7zip)? Maybe something is corrupted...

EDIT: Try adding files in the rom path gradually, to see if the problem appears when one of them is added to the path...

I think that the problem come to my first problem since the all the datafile (emulators, mame or no intro) induce the similar error message " error while trying to open file" & in link to the problem for reading in the folder temp. So, the copy datafiles to destination files is corrupted.

I continue my research

OK, this message is something that Eric needs to check. Most likely it's either a bug in RC that needs fixing or something wrong with the DAT file.

I suggest you make a new post in the bug tracker (check my signature) and attach the log file there. Feel free to write it in French, Eric will have no problem with that.

Quand tu dis 'pas ma partition windows', tu parles de la partition boot (c: ?), ou un disque réseau par exemple ?

Effectivement plutôt que de parler de partition Windows, je devrai dire partition boot sur C:. Les rom qui seront à analyser seront quant à elle sur un disque réseau mais pas Romcenter qui est sur un autre disque physiquement différent du C: (D:).

J'ai décrit peut-être plus précisément mon problème sur le bugtracker : issue #246 : Problème au lancement de Romcenter et lors de la création de la base de jeux.
