Couple of issues with RC 1.2
So I loaded up the latest RC today to see how it was looking and set up a database for SNES games using the latest no-intro parent-clone dat.
A few (around 20 or so I think} files show in red (mostly bios it seems, says they are too small to be a rom file), everything else shows in yellow and seems to be suggesting that they are the wrong format (it says they are named as sfc but are really mgd files I think).
This is all rather odd as the exact same complete set of no-intro SNES roms tested in latest stable version of rom center don't show any issues and come back as all green.
Is this something I'm doing wrong?
Many thanks,
Chris

Have you used the same datafile?

Hi Wanderer,
I created a new database and used the same dat file that I used for the database in the stable build.

Well, in that case, Eric will have to take a look at it and let you know what's going on. Just give him some time.SolemnSpirit wrote: Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:29 am Hi Wanderer,

No problem, it does say that no plug in is defined in the dat when creating the database if that helps
Re: Couple of issues with RC 1.2
Hi
Did you answer yes when it asks to use the snes plugin ?

Re: Couple of issues with RC 1.2
So I set up with the same Dat file and the same directory of Roms (SNES), and the 12 that 4.0.0rc1.2 is telling me are bad, are the ones that 3.7.1 are telling me that are good. I have included pictures of similar items in both clients as well as my own hash of the rom in hashcalc. I believe the Enhancement Chips rom dumps is what the original poster is referring to.
Only other annoyance I have is I had some PS1 discs I archived myself, then verified the files using redump. Finally I added them to Romcenter, it did upset me a bit when I told it to "Fix Roms" to get the renaming to the redump standard, it said that Track 2 from game A matched track 3 from game b and so it was going to use that instead. Having spent the time to ensure I got bit perfect archival copies, I would prefer that when I have a track named like the other files I am "fixing" that it uses the file I provided as long as it also matches the hashes instead of trying to use something from another game. Given for a PS1 disc there are multiple tracks, it could still use the name of the cue file and used that + Track 1 or something of that nature.
Otherwise, Love the program, Keep up the good work.

Hi
Could you try to not use the snes plugin ? (choose no when asking on dat import)
The no intro pc xml does not need plugin because file crc is the same as game crc for sfc/mgd files.
And current snes plugin doesn't recognize bios files because they are too small.
Anyway, I will rewrite the plugin part for release 4.1. Until then, I will disable the snes detection to avoid problems.
Note: I checked the lobo snes rom (crc 890DC31C) with ucon tool and it seems the header is bad. I then found a 'fixed header' version (crc 9AC64A34) which is good. Don't know why no-intro still references the bad one ?
