Problem with working ROMs

I installed Romcenter last version, and tried with the included Sega Genesis .dat file.
After fix the ROMs there are a lot of files that Romcenter don´t recognise, BUT they work fine in Fusion Sega emulator, like 16 Tiles Mahjong , and some others...
And I can´t see the names of missing ROMs when press red icon... only green, gray and yellow seems to work.
I taked a look in "about", and genesis plugin is loaded...

Why if are real working ROMs, are not recognised? If I never try to play them, and deleted, I will lost a lot of games.
What am I doing wrong?

Maybe the version of the dat file is older or newer than the versions of the roms and of the emulator you have...

?
There are versions of ROMs??? And can the emulator version affect romcenter when recognise if a file is a valid rom or not?

Well, i'm not sure about Sega Genesis, but in MAME and other emulators there are "versions". For instance in MAME, sometimes the guys that develop the emulator release a version of mame with the roms of a game which does not work 100% correctly. Later on, they may realize that the guys who extracted the roms from the original game have done it incorrectly, or they may receive a more "proper" dump of the roms from another source. That means that the next release of MAME will contain a (slightly or completely) different set of roms for this game. The dat for the first version of MAME will of course be different than the dat for the second one so depending on which dat you use in RC, the roms for this game may appear either green or yellow/red.

I don't know if the whole process works like this in Sega Genesis though...

First, thanks for the support :)

I am almost sure there is no versions for Genesis roms... but not 100%.
I think they are only cartidge chip dumps... well, there are modified ones to add some extra features, like unlimited lifes, etc.

But in this case there was a lot on unrecognised roms, and was no modified... and all work in different emulators and versions.
So I think Romcenter is wrong to say those roms was invalid... Maybe included dat file is the problem?
I tried downloading last no-intro .dat file, but romcenter uses mame dll with this dat...
How is the right text i must add to the dat file to force the use of sega dll?

In that case i suggest you state the version of Fusion Sega emulator you use and wait for a response from Eric about this issue. He can probably give you a more specific answer on this than me.

Hi

I will check your genesis problem.

There are no versions for genesis roms, just different 'copier' (dumper). The problem is that each copier add its personal header to the rom. This produce a lot of different roms for one game.
The plugins goal is to get rid of that.

There are also a lot of hacked roms. These roms work perfectly in emulators, but are not always available in the datafiles. Datafiles mostly store 'clean' dump.

I have a list of games that I was interested in getting working but so far have not been able to. It seems that the lr-fbalpha (i just updated it to the latest from <AD-RELATED URL REMOVED BY MODERATOR> source and that fixed at least one game) is the most reliable.

But games like the following refuse to start up

astdelux.zip
asteroid.zip
berzerk.zip
invaderl.zip
mslug6.zip (which surprised me as it seems like one of the most popular)
spyhuntp.zip
etc...

I have tried using each of the other emulators on them too (mame2000, mame3000, mame4all, pifba)

Just wondering if others have some more experience with MAME roms and could offer some suggestions on things to try.

All these games are perfectly emulated. Try with the latest mame emulator, load everything in romcenter and you will see what's wrong.
